Garth – The Man
Sadly, many fans of country music are also ones who have been on board with “Bud Lighting” the LGBTQ+ community and those companies that choose to support them. Kid Rock and John Rich are both celebrities who own Nashville businesses and have pulled Bud Light from being served in their establishments. Still upset over the brands partnership with Transgender Influencer, Dylan Mulvaney.
Now Garth Brooks has caused a little stir of his own. Garth has plans to open his own bar in Nashville, in the near future. He has come out and said he plans to serve “every brand of beer” at his establishment. To the outcry he had this to say in a “Inside Studio G” livestream.
“But inclusiveness is always going to be me. I think that diversity is the answer to the problems that are here and the answer to the problems that are coming. So, I love diversity. All inclusive, so all are welcome. I realize that might not be other people’s opinions, but that’s OK, man”
For people who now may not want to come to his honky tonk, he had this to say. “So, here’s the deal man, if you to come to ‘Friends in Low Places’, come in. But come in with love, come in with tolerance, patience. Come in with an open mind and its cool.”
Garth Brooks has been an ally to the LGBTQ+ community for many years. In 1992 he released a song entitled, “We Shall Be Free”. It spoke out against homophobia and racism. He said of this song, “easily the most controversial song I have ever done. A song of love and a song of tolerance.” Later adding this nice sent, sentiment. “I never thought there would be any problems with this song. Sometimes the roads we take do not turn out to be the roads we envisioned them to be…All I can say about “We Shall Be Free” is that I will stand by every line of this song as long as I live. I am very proud of it.”
Dylan Mulvaney has also broken her silence on recent events. She has 1.8 million Instagram followers but has remained offline for the last few weeks due to all of the controversy with her collaboration with Anheuser Busch. This began in April of this year when Anheuser Busch and Nike partnered with Mulvaney for sponsored social media posts. Since all of the controversy began, two Anheuser Busch executives have taken leaves of absence. Daniel Blake, who is in charge of marketing mainstream brands for Anheuser Busch and Alissa Heinerscheld, who oversees Bud Light marketing.
This from Dylan as she broke her silence on the whole episode. “I think it’s okay to be frustrated with someone and confused, but what I’m really struggling with is the need to dehumanize and to be cruel. I don’t think that’s right. Dehumanization has never fixed anything in human history, ever, and I’m embarrassed to even tell you this, but I was nervous that you were going to start believing those things they were saying about me, since it is so loud. But I’m going to go ahead and trust that the people who know me and my heart won’t listen to that noise…I don’t know if reincarnation is a thing, but in my next life, I would love to be someone non-confrontational and non-controversial.”
